P08-16: Extension of boys’ hostel with dormitory and 5 toilets in Jhatioda, Orissa

Budget: € 17,000

Tribal boys from the environment of Jhatioda had to walk quite a distance to go to the (public) school. They also did not get a decent daily meal. Therefore, some years ago, a Christian organization built a small hostel for boys in Jhatioda. This hostel, called 'St. Maria Ashram ', is now home to about 50 boys. Here they sleep, study and get a simple meal.

P07-37: Steam cooking installation for a Boys’ Hostel at Allada, Orissa.

Budget: € 4,090

The Christ Nagar village lies at 170 kilometers south of the city of Berhampur in the state of Orissa. The school was founded in 1987. 160 children aged 5 to 15 years accomodation. The children attend the nearby government school.
In this school we would like to use a steam cooking equipment.

AB01: Balwadi program in 14 villages in district Dumka, Jharkhand.

Budget: € 5,600

The program supports the education of the poorest of the poor children in 14 villages who cannot go to school. The goal is to facilitate their enrolment in the formal schools. These Balwadi Homes work also as a catalyst for the integrated development of the village communities. SAC has initialised this project but is in need of further funds for continuation.

FR11: Support for the Shanti Bhavan Girls' Hostel, Orissa.

Budget: € 2,000

Costs of accommodation of 50 girls during one year. Practically no schools are available in many small villages in the rural areas of Orissa. For their formal education the only option for the children is to board in a hostel with a school close by. Most parents cannot pay the necessary fees due to their poverty.
