Completed Projects

Thanks to the contribution of our sponsors, the following projects could be realized recently or are currently in there final stage of realization. For more information on a project, click the project title.

P05-10: Construction floor at St. Joseph's school in Kunjbona, Jharkhand.

Budget: € 44,000

The St Joseph's school became too small very quickly due to the rapid increase of students. Expansion of the existing building of 4 classrooms was desperately needed as well as a renovation of the walls. With funds from SAC, a floor was added to the existing building and two side wings were constructed as well. The extension houses the library, the staffroom and two classrooms. It got ready last April just before the start of the new school year. There are currently over 400 students.

P07-19: New school furniture boys school, Kunjbona, Jharkhand.

Budget: € 5,134

SAC financed the expansion of this school with financial support of the Dutch committee for Enduring Development (NCDO). This project is completed and there are now over 400 children at this school. However, the children still needed to sit on the ground.

P07-07: Wall around girls hostel in Belpahari, Jharkhand

Budget: € 5,337

The new girls hostel in Belpahari did not have a surrounding wall around the hostel. A wall was needed surrounding the entire field of the boarding school and the residence of the sisters for the safety of the girls, but also to protect the well against pollution.

P07-05: "Return back to school" project

In Calcutta (India) and the surrounding area, many children leave school after only 2 to 3 years of education. This project gave 43 children the opportunity to go back to school.

P08-10: Upgrading of the Marshal primary at Ghatiduba, Orissa.

Budget: € 12.000

Three extra classrooms are needed for the upgrading of the present primary school with a High School. For the children who want to complete their 7th grade there are no High Schools in the vicinity for the continuation of their studies. The building work is now in progress.
